The client

From humble hosiery beginnings and Royal Navy service, to brand reinvention and the birth of a football-focused sportswear giant.

The challenge

Create a website that would encapsulate their historic past and bring to light the new direction of Admiral Sportswear.

The website

The design was kept clean and simple for the best user experience allowing users to navigate freely. We combined this simplified navigation with fullscreen scrolling sections which were used to showcase historic moments.

Admiral’s new branding featured multiple brands which segment the main brand and website into different sectors. These ranged from their premium Gold range to a Retro-inspired collection, replicating iconic Admiral designs. We used a tabbed user interface to quickly navigate to the relevant areas, this would then guide the user to an individual page with a full breakdown of that particular brand.

Admiral also has a rich history and they wanted to share their roots, from producing garments for the Navy in 1939 to providing football shirt for the likes of Gordon Banks in the 1966 World Cup-winning England football team. It was important to have part of the website dedicated to their heritage and history and this was achieved in 2 parts. The first was a fullscreen animated scrolling overview page which pulled out the most memorable parts of their past. The second was to breakdown the company history, where the most significant company successes were segmented into 4 distinct eras. These pages were more detail orientated and contained a separate sticky menu where the dates would link to information using anchor points
